5 Guiding Principles in Business & Life
Here are 5 Guiding Principles that I apply in Business and Life.
1. Be led by beauty. Strive for the intersection of art and science, a work of art. Not perfection but creative brilliance. Your best efforts combined with your talents. Beauty. A company efficiently maximizing its resources. A beautiful end to a productive, fulfilling day.
2. Always surround yourself with the smartest people. Avoid weeds in your garden including your mind. Be driven to maximize your intellectual pursuits and always push yourself further beyond what you thought was possible. In business, have the smartest group of people and let them do their “thing” and do not micromanage them. If they are smarter than you, even better! Anything is possible. We want a team of smart people who are also thinkers.
3. Think!! Do not follow the herd or follow anything. Do your own thing. Do not follow the pack. Do something original. Think outside the box. Work on something different. Think different!
4. I don’t use absolute words so I will modify “Never Give Up” to “Don’t Give Up Easily”. Be smart about it. Don’t give up when your emotions heighten and it feels tough rather “know when to quit” with your mind. Keep at it and stick with it. You will do it, if you truly want it.
5. A sprinkle of luck. Good luck that is. There is that extra intangible element. Fairy dust. Something that we cannot calculate but can give us that boost. Hope for GOOD LUCK!
