Bitcoin’s Golden Cross Is a Signal, Not a Thesis
Bitcoin just printed two signals that the market has not seen together since last November: a golden cross on September 9, with the 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day, and a move above its 50-week average for the first time in this bear market.
The second signal matters more than the headline. A weekly close above the 50-week line would put Bitcoin near the level that has ended four of the last five crypto bear markets. The test is a close around $80,000, not a single intraday print.
That is why the chart is useful as a map, not a forecast. The Fed-hike floor sits near $75,000, the 50-week line is around $80,000, and the ceiling near $82,600 has capped rallies since August. Clear that ceiling and the next target is the high $90,000s.
Capital is moving too: roughly $3.8 billion entered spot Bitcoin ETFs in three weeks, while ETF assets approached $101 billion. The setup is improving, but confirmation still comes from the weekly close.
