Humanoid robotics: force and torque sensing
The hardest problem in humanoid robotics isn’t walking. It’s knowing how hard to squeeze.
That’s force and torque sensing, and $VPG just received a vendor nomination letter from its first humanoid customer. Not a press release. The customer formally naming its production supplier, after more than two years of qualification work.
That customer’s ramp plan: tens of bots per week now, hundreds by fall, thousands per week by year end.
The order book already turned. Q2 bookings $95.5M, book to bill 1.14, seventh straight quarter at or above 1.0. Sensors bookings hit a record at 1.44.
Now look at the size. Market cap under $1 billion, on roughly 13 million shares outstanding, at under 3x sales. China’s Unitree just IPO’d at $9 billion and 36x sales.
One robot maker is worth 10X the company that makes the sensors.
The nomination is real. The revenue is a 2027 question.
