Could IREN’s Mystery AI Customer Be OpenAI?
Could the $IREN mystery leading frontier AI lab that signed a new multi-year AI cloud contract be OpenAI or Anthropic? Who else could it be?
The contract is still undisclosed. IREN likely signed an NDA and cannot name the leading frontier AI lab yet. That does not make the customer fictitious; it makes the commercial relationship confidential.
There would be serious legal ramifications if IREN were inventing a customer. The better question is which lab has the scale, urgency, and need for contracted capacity. We will have to wait for confirmation, but the evidence is consistent with a real multi-year AI-cloud commitment.
