Biotech Isn’t One Trade. It’s a Stack.

๐Ÿงฌ Biotech has been running for weeks. It’s not one trade. It’s a stack.

1. The Stack

  • ๐Ÿงฌ Gene editing: $BEAM $PRME
  • ๐Ÿค– AI discovery: $ABCL $RXRX
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Data + diagnostics: $TEM $GRAL
  • ๐Ÿงช Synthetic bio: $TWST
  • ๐Ÿ’Š Commercial: $TGTX $INSM
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ The basket: $ARKG

DATA trains the models. The MODELS pick the molecules. The EDITORS fix the code. COMMERCIAL is where it gets paid.

Since mid-September: an FDA clearance, clinical proof of concept, a regulatory door opening for gene editing, big pharma writing checks, and new 52-week highs.

That’s not a bounce. That’s a re-rate. ๐Ÿ‘€

2. Why Now

Why are biotechs running? Look at the last six weeks. ๐Ÿง

  • Sep: FDA clears $PRME to start its in-body prime editing trial for Alpha-1. $TWST hits 52-week highs on its Lilly AI deal. ARK adds gene editing.
  • Oct: $TEM clears antitrust for the Personalis deal. Merck KGaA buys Silence at a ~130% premium. Gilead pays $1.275B for a Phase 1 pill.
  • Last week: FDA draft guidance lets one application cover many patient-specific gene edits. $BEAM shows proof of concept for BEAM-301. Editors rip.

Catalysts stacking on catalysts.

The cost of failure is falling. The buyers are showing up. The re-rate already started.

3. One-Liner

Everyone’s arguing about whether AI tops. Meanwhile biotech has quietly been running for weeks. ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ‘€ $ARKG

4. Gene Editing’s Door

๐Ÿšจ Gene editing just got the regulatory door it was built for.

FDA + CMS draft guidance: ONE application can cover multiple patient-specific variants of a gene-editing therapy.

Read that again. Ultra-rare diseases too small to trial one at a time just became a platform.

$PRME: IND cleared in September for Alpha-1, and it has now dosed the first patient in an in-body prime editing trial for Wilson’s disease. $BEAM: first clinical proof of concept for BEAM-301.

The market is starting to price platforms, not single drugs.

5. AI + Health

The AI labs are walking into the lab. Literally. ๐Ÿงช

Anthropic bought a one-person biotech that ran on Claude. A new startup raised $215M for AI-run robotic labs. Formation Bio launched a $600M fund to push AI-found drugs through trials. $TWST signed with Lilly’s AI platform.

AI floods the pipeline with candidates. The new chokepoints are data and trials.

That’s where $TEM (the data), $ABCL (the discovery engine) and $TWST (the DNA it’s written in) sit.

Compute is revenue. Biology is the next customer. ๐Ÿ‘€

Not financial advice. Do your own research.
