Technology Is Deflationary: Tesla’s Cybercab

Technology is deflationary.

Elon Musk confirmed Tesla expects to deliver a Cybercab to a customer for $30,000 or less by the end of 2026.

That matters beyond one vehicle. A low-cost autonomous platform would push transportation toward a software-and-manufacturing curve: more capability, lower unit cost, and a wider addressable market.

You may be able to buy a Cybercab for personal use. If that price point is reached, the market will have to reprice what autonomy can do to the cost of mobility.
